Something About The Lymphatic System

At the age of 15 I was hospitalized for strep throat, shortly after I was diagnosed with tonsillitis. Throughout my adult life I experienced chronic sore throats and strep throat related symptoms. I did what most doctors recommended salt water mouth rinses and sipped on warm teas, but I never found any real relief. In this article I will introduce you to some information I was recently introduced to and inform you about what your lymphatic system is and how it works in addition to different herbs you can add to your personal apothecary to aid if you are experiencing any lymphatic related issues.

What is your lymphatic system ?

Your lymphatic system is apart of your immune system. It keeps body fluid levels in balance and defends the body against infections.

What organs are connected to your lymphatic system ?

  • The primary lymphatic organs

  • Bone marrow and thymus

  • Secondary lymphatic organs

  • Lymph nodes, spleen and tonsils and tissues in various mucous membrane layers in the body Ex. Bowels.

Where does lymphatic fluid go ?

Lymphatic fluid travels through lymph vessels and drains into blood stream.
